Delta County School District would like to invite all Delta County students that attended 5th-8th grade during the 2022-2023 school year to join us at this year’s Summer Exploration Academy!  Taking place June 19th – 23rd, and June 26th – 30th, from 8am-11am, Technical College of the Rockies and Delta Middle School will be hosting a variety of hands-on educational programs centered on exploring new learning adventures and potential future career opportunities.  Students may sign up to attend one or both weeks, and will take a new class for each week they attend.  Attendance is free, and snacks will be provided. Transportation will be available from Cedaredge Elementary, Delta Middle, Hotchkiss K-8,  and Paonia PK-8.

Is there a fee to attend?

No, the Summer Exploration Academy is free to all DCSD students that were in the 5th-8th grade during the 2022-2023 school year.

What are the class times?

Classes will be held from 8 am to 11 am, Monday – Friday, the weeks of June 19th – 23rd, and June 26th – 30th.

Will food be provided?

We will not be providing lunch for the students this year, but we will provide a snack, and we will be releasing the students at 11am, before lunch time.

Will transportation be provided?

Busses will be transporting students from Cedaredge Elementary School, Delta Middle School, Hotchkiss K-8, and Paonia PK-8.  Bus pickup schedules will be sent out to parents and posted on this webpage closer to the academy’s start date.

Where will the classes be held? Classes will be held at the Technical College of the Rockies campus located at 1765 US Hwy 50, Delta, CO 81416, or at Delta Middle School located at 401 E 10th St, Delta, CO 81416.  Parents will be notified of the location of the class their student will attend.
How do I apply? You can click the “Apply Now” button near the top of the screen, or go to https://bit.ly/summerexplorationacademy2023 and complete the application.  Students will choose 3 potential classes to attend by order of preference, and will be assigned a class on a first come, first serve basis.  We will inform all students of the classes they are taking the week of June 12th.
