Phlebotomy

Phlebotomy is a 5.5 credit, 116 hour program that prepares individuals, under the supervision of physicians and other health care professionals, to draw blood samples from patients using a variety of intrusive procedures. Includes instruction in basic vascular anatomy and physiology, blood physiology, skin puncture techniques, venipuncture, venous specimen collection and handling, safety and sanitation procedures, and applicable standards and regulations.

Program Information

  • Phlebotomy is an 8 week 5.5 credit, 116 hour program
  • First 4 weeks are class and labs, last 4 weeks are internship
  • Phlebotomy is open to Post-Secondary students only
  • Delta campus: Online/Hybrid

  • Includes internship following online work and in person labs

  • This program DOES NOT qualify for Federal Aid (Pell, SEOG, Federal Work Study, etc…)

Admissions Requirements

The following items are required as part of the conditions of enrollment:

  • ID – A photo copy of your ID

  • Immunizations – Proof of all required immunizations.

  • Background Check – Run through BIS, Inc.

  • Official Transcripts – Official transcripts sent directly to us from the school you attended

  • Drug Screen – Will be done within 30 days of the start of internship. Paid for in your program fees. Program coordinator will provide a voucher for testing before the start of the internship

  • Health Insurance- A photo copy of your current Health Insurance

Students will also be required to attend an orientation to go over school policies and student expectations.
