About

The Medical Assistant Program is designed to prepare students to assist with the administrative and clinical functions in the healthcare environment.  Upon successful program completion students will be well prepared to work in a variety of healthcare settings including Medical Offices, Hospitals, and Ambulatory Care Centers.  The students will be educated in a variety of laboratory and clinical skills including phlebotomy, EKG, sterile technique, medication administration, emergency response, administering injections, surgical procedures, and rehabilitation.  They will also learn administrative skills such as office management, billing and coding, scheduling appointments, and filing medical records.  Completion of the program will allow students to sit for the Registered Medical Assistant certification exam as well as the Registered Phlebotomy Technician certification exam.  Both are nationally recognized certifications through American Medical Technologists.
