Barbering

The Barbering Program is a 50 credit, 2 semester, 1,283 hour program that is offered as a fulltime schedule for post-secondary students, and part-time for high schoolers (concurrent students). Through lecture and hands-on learning opportunities, our students develop academic and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. This program emphasizes specialized training in; safety, sanitation, hair treatments, hair manipulations, haircutting techniques, shaving, skin care, reception, sales, and management. Students gain valuable real world experience working with customers through TCR’s on-campus salon.

  • Barbering is a 50 credit, 1283 hour program

  • Postsecondary: Barbering is a 2 semester program (full day, August thru June)
  • Concurrent Enrollment: Barbering is a 4 semester program (half day, August thru June)
  • State examination required for licensure

  • This program qualifies for Federal Aid (Pell, SEOG, Federal Work Study, etc…)

Admissions Requirements

The following items are required as part of the conditions of enrollment:

  • ID – A photo copy of your ID

  • Official Transcripts – Official transcripts sent directly to us from the school you attended

Students will also be required to attend an orientation to go over program expectations.
