Hands-on training in cutting, styling, shaving, skincare, and salon management, delivered in TCR's on-campus barber shop, preparing you to sit for the Colorado State Board licensure exam.
Program Overview
About This Program
The Barbering program is a two-semester, 50-credit hybrid course covering 1,267 hours of instruction. Students gain hands-on training in safety, sanitation, hair treatments, styling, cutting, shaving, skincare, and salon management, practicing in TCR's on-campus barber shop throughout the program.
Program Goal: To prepare students for success in the barbering profession through a blend of technical instruction and real-world client practice, culminating in eligibility to sit for the Colorado State Board examination for licensure.

Program Cost
Costs are broken out by semester below. Note that the Student Kit ($1,525.00) is a one-time Semester 1 expense covering the professional tools you'll use throughout the program and carry into your career. Sales tax on the tangible items (books + kit) is also billed in Semester 1.
Indirect costs (housing, transportation, and personal expenses) are estimates from the Colorado Department of Higher Education and are not paid to TCR.

Estimated Indirect & Total Program Costs
Indirect costs are not paid to TCR. They represent estimated living expenses based on the Colorado Department of Higher Education's monthly student budget projections.
Dependent student: Under 24, unmarried, no dependents of their own, not a veteran or active-duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces, and not an emancipated minor. Parental information is required on the FAFSA.
Independent student: Age 24 or older, married, a graduate/professional student, a veteran or active-duty service member, an orphan or ward of the court, an emancipated minor, someone with legal dependents, or otherwise meeting federal criteria. Only the student's (and spouse's, if applicable) information is required on the FAFSA.
