Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

TCR’s Advanced Emergency Medical Technician program is a 1 semester, 15.5 credit, 300 hour program. Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is intended to prepare students for the National Registry AEMT Exam. Students will build upon the foundation of knowledge gained at the EMT level. Students will cover more advanced components, and further knowledge of pharmacology. The AEMT course is a great stepping stone to pursuing credentialing as a paramedic.

Program Information

This program is only open to Post-Secondary students.

  • Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is a 15.5 credit, 300 hour program.

  • Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is 1 semester

  • State Examination is required for licensure 
  • This program DOES NOT qualify for Federal Aid (Pell, SEOG, Federal Work Study, etc…)

  • Students must have a valid Colorado Emergency Medical Technician license

Admissions Requirements

The following items are required as part of the conditions of enrollment:

  • ID – A photo copy of your ID

  • Immunizations – Proof of all required immunizations.

  • Background Check – Run through BIS
  • Official Transcripts – Official transcripts sent directly to us from the school you attended

  • Proof of Current EMT License- Copy of current EMT license
  • Drug Screen- Will be done within 30 days of the start of clinicals. Paid for in your program fees. Program coordinator will provide a voucher for testing before the start of the clinicals.

Students will also be required to attend an interview with program coordinators, and an orientation to go over program expectations.
