The Firefighter I Program is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in the fire service. Successful completion of this course will give students certification in Hazardous Materials Operations, S-130 Basic Wildland Firefighter, L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service (which are recognized as entry level for both USFS and BLM), IFSTA Firefighter I curriculum and Job Performance Requirements (JPR’s) for both NFPA 1001 and the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control. CDFPC Firefighter I certification testing is included as part of this program. Students must be 18 years old by the first day of class. This program is 13 credit hours.
